In a significant step towards addressing the global climate crisis, Nigeria’s Minister of Environment, Balarabe Lawal, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of the Nigerian government, with the People’s Republic of China on the sidelines of the ongoing COP29.

The MoU aims to adopt and accelerate climate action through innovative solutions, mutual cooperation, and shared expertise in combating environmental challenges.

Nigeria’s Environment Minister was invited to the High-Level Dialogue tagged: “South-South Cooperation to Promote Sustainable Development in Developing Countries”, by the Chinese delegation.
