Juliet Ukanwosu – Founder
A seasoned extractive sector journalist, Juliet began her journalism career over a decade ago and has spent about 95percent of that time consistently following developments in the extractives sector. Her passion for extractives sector reporting has taken her globally where she has engaged with like-minded journalists, demand-side actors, experts and industry captains from around the world.
Prior to setting up Extractive360, she worked at Leadership Newspapers (one of Nigeria’s leading national dailies), where she rose to become the coordinator of the energy desk and later News Editor for the Weekend title; and an associate member of the organizations Editorial Board. She voluntarily resigned her employment to set up Extractive360.
A graduate of mass communication from Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria, Juliet is also a member of Media Initiative on Transparency in Extractive Industries (MITEI), a non-profit national network of seasoned extractive industries journalists collaborating to organize conversations, produce and disseminate in-depth media reports of developments in Nigeria’s extractives sector. As the Programme Director of MITEI, Juliet has worked with other team members, accountability actors and industry stakeholders in promoting valid efforts to engender deep-rooted transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s extractive industries. She is also a member of Women in Extractive (WiE) a national network of women working across the value chain of Nigeria’s extractive industries. She belongs to several network groups working on specific areas of the extractive sector such as the Beneficial Ownership Network, Contract Transparency Network amongst others.
She has certificates in new media communications from the London College of Communication, University of Arts London; and the London Academy of IT, both in London, UK. She is an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (member of the Global Alliance for public relations and communication management).
Mercy Makpor PhD – Research/Data Analyst
Dr Mercy Erhi Makpor is a Senior Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) consultant, and a researcher in the School of Economics and Management, University of Minho, Portugal. Her research area is in Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility with specificity to the supply chain mapping, third party relationships, stakeholder engagements, and effective CSR integration in the oil and gas sector.
Her other interest is in the area of Human development at micro and macro levels where she focuses on individual and institutional responses to social, economic and environmental issues.
She has had years of experience conducting research and working with professionals from some of the biggest research teams in Canada under the Teasdale-Corti Team Grant, and others from Europe under the European Commission.
She has lectured, chaired and made presentations at both national and international conferences, seminars and workshops on issues such as: Ethical conduct, CSR reporting, CSR – social, economic and environmental challenges as well as sustainable development. Her core competencies rest on analysis of qualitative data, project design and implementation, as well as in monitoring and evaluation of programmes.
She has a degree in Accounting from the University of Benin, Nigeria; a Master of Art in International Economy and Business from Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary and a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility from the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal.
Adebowale Adeolu – Head, IT/Web Management
Adeolu is a senior Full-Stack developer with Bachelor Degree (B.Tech) in Computer Science. He has extensive experience in building high-quality Mobile apps(iOS and Android) and websites (HTML5, CSS, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python, WordPress).
Kelvin Alohan – Content Manager
Kelvin is a renowned online content manager whose expertise is in websites’ Content Management System (CMS) and Digital Assets Management (DAM).
He is knowledgeable in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and social media/digital marketing. He holds a Diploma Certificate from Delta State University, Abraka, and has certifications in Cyber Terrorism from HICS Academy, and Online Marketing Fundamentals and Digital Skills from Google Africa.
