Oil, Gas Footprints And Just Energy Transition In The Niger Delta

Following the devastating footprints left by oil and gas mining and production in the Nigeria’s Niger Delta region, the role of peace in addressing issues on the pathway to a greener, low-carbon economy, through clean and renewable energy sources is the topic of discussion in the 9th edition of the Just Energy Transition (JET) radio program on Royal FM, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The JET radio program is being implemented in Bayelsa State by Youth and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC), in partnership with Spaces for Change and support from Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) under the auspices of the Extractive Industry and Climate Change Governance Project.

Speaking during the program, Mrs. Nancy Wodu, Partners for Peace (P4P), Bayelsa State Rep, explained the role peace can play in just energy transition process. She offered some advice and recommendation in the use of peace to drive the process of transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy in Nigeria.
