Firms Sign Oil And Gas Technology Deployment Agreement

AKD Digital Solution (ADS) has signed partnership agreement with AVEVA Select (West Africa), a global leader in industrial software aimed at revolutionising Nigeria’s oil and gas digital space.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday after signing the agreement, Mr Daera Akobo, PANA Holdings Chairman, said the move would promote connectivity, transformation, retention and sustainability in the Nigerian economy.

Akobo, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of AKD, said though Nigeria is bless with abundant natural resources, lack of connectivity and integration among component sectors remained a challenge.

“We have all the initiatives, cash master plan, the development strategies in different papers but they are all disjointed.

“This partnership focuses on connectivity, transformation, and sustainability to address the critical need for integration and efficiency in the industry’’, Akobo said.

He said that the partnership would provide the needed technology to bridge the gap and lead to fourth industrial revolution in the oil and gas industry and beyond.

Akobo described AVEVA as a potential partner with practical solutions needed in the Nigeria market.

He commended President Bola Tinubu for his foresight in establishing the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

The AVEVA Regional Head, Mr Shafe Dirisu, said that partnership was meant to enable Nigeria’s oil and gas industry sector become digital champions, by using the available resources, time and investments wisely.

Dirisu said the collaboration aimed to deploy technology into the industry to address industrial challenges and the evil twins of climate change and poverty, presently facing the world.

“This partnership exemplifies what we are doing, investing in environment, in people, and companies working together, to be able to solve the biggest challenges that we see at the moment, “ Dirisu said.

Also speaking, Mr Ronak Patel, Vice-President, AKD Digital Solutions, said the collaboration would help to deliver value through technology, data refinement, and application of artificial intelligence.

Patel also said that the partnership would help to bring digital refinery to Nigeria.

“Data is the new oil and unless if it is refined and harnessed in the right ways, it’s useless.

“So there’s plenty of data and information out there. The AVEVA solution covers a whole breadth and depth of capability.

“What we’re aiming to do is take that information, convert it into useful data that can be harnessed in the right ways,” Patel said.
