Lekoil, Partners Begins OPL 310 Site Survey

A site survey has started over the OPL 310 license offshore Nigeria, operated by Optimum Petroleum Development Co., in preparation for appraisal drilling.

Both the Ogo-1 and Ogo-1 ST wells in 2013, found hydrocarbons within the SynRift and PostRift. According to Optimum’s partner Lekoil, the two planned wells will be designed to provide dynamic flow data from well testing while preserving the drilled wells as producers.

The site survey will support assessment of top-hole drilling, jackup rig and potential platform foundation hazards or seabed obstructions.

Nigeria’s Department of Petroleum Resources approved the survey in accordance with the Petroleum (Drilling and Production) Regulations. The marine vessel has started operations and should complete the program before the expiry date for the approval on March 24.

The first well could spud during the second half of this year.
