Shell Overtakes ExxonMobil On Forbes Global 2000 Powerful Coys List

Shell is presently the world’s biggest oil and gas company after overtaking ExxonMobil to become the prime oil and gas company on the Forbes Global 2000‘s list of the biggest and most powerful public companies.

Forbes takes into consideration sales, profits assets and market value when creating the list. The Hague-based giant’s jump on the overall list and the oil and gas list was put down to higher sales.

Shell took the 11th position overall, climbing from 20th place on last year’s list, placing just outside the top 10 that was occupied by US and Chinese companies.

ExxonMobil, that topped the oil and gas list previously, ranked second and 13th overall followed by Chevron that recovered over the past year from 359th position overall to 21st.

The top ten list of the oil and gas sector is completed by Total, China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (Sinopec), PetroChina, BP, Gazprom, Rosneft and Reliance Industries, according to the Forbes List
