By Kelvin Alohan

The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FGN Power Company Limited, Kenny O. Anuwe, are expected to headline the 6th Annual Conference of the Power Correspondents Association of Nigeria (PCAN), scheduled for November 12, 2026, in Abuja.

The conference, themed, “$1trn Economy: Nigeria’s Roadmap to Reliable and Affordable Power Supply,” will bring together policymakers, regulators, electricity generation and distribution companies, investors, development partners, industry experts and journalists to discuss strategies for addressing the country’s persistent electricity challenges.

Tegbe is expected to chair the conference, while Anuwe will deliver the keynote address titled, “FGN Power: Progress, Priorities and the Road Ahead.”

His presentation is expected to highlight the company’s achievements, strategic priorities and contributions to the development of Nigeria’s electricity sector.

Speaking ahead of the conference, PCAN Chairman, Obas Esiedesa, said the event comes at a critical time as the Federal Government intensifies reforms and investments aimed at improving electricity supply, strengthening infrastructure and creating an enabling environment for economic growth.

He noted that reliable and affordable electricity remains essential to Nigeria’s ambition of building a $1 trillion economy, particularly in driving industrial expansion, business competitiveness, job creation and improved living standards.

According to Esiedesa, the conference will provide a platform for stakeholders to examine the connection between the country’s economic ambitions and the performance of the electricity sector.

Discussions will focus on power-sector reforms, investment opportunities, infrastructure development, financing mechanisms and sustainable strategies for improving electricity supply across the country.

The participation of the Minister of Power is expected to provide insights into the Federal Government’s policy direction, reform priorities and plans to address challenges across the electricity value chain.

Similarly, Anuwe’s keynote address is expected to highlight FGN Power Company’s ongoing interventions and its role in the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen the electricity sector.

The annual conference is part of PCAN’s efforts to deepen engagement with key stakeholders in the power industry, promote informed discussions and improve public understanding of developments in the sector.

The 6th edition will hold at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall, NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
