The link between the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources and primary health care delivery in the Niger Delta was the theme of this 3rd edition of the Youth and Environmental Advocacy Centre’s sponsored Just Energy Transition (JET) half hour on Royal 95.5FM, Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
Speaking on the topic; Just Energy Transition and Primary Health Care Management in the South-South, a medical officer, Mrs. Ayebatari Julia Pax Agiri, explained how the transition will impact the health care sector, particularly, in the south-south.
Describing the ordeal presently faced with poor electricity supply, Agiri expressed optimism that the transition to alternative energy sources like solar, will usher in a new era of reliable electricity and overall improvements in healthcare delivery especially at the local primary health care level.
The project is implemented by YEAC in Bayesa state in partnership with Spaces for Change and support from Africa Centre for Energy Policy. Click the recording below for the complete conversation.
