The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) popularly referred to as the Olympics of the oil and gas industry, begins Monday, at the NRG Park in Houston, Texas.
Now in its 50th year, the OTC which began in 1969, has been the gathering place for industry experts and leaders to share and explore offshore developments and industry innovations.
According to a statement from the organisers, more than 2,200 companies will this year, be showcasing leading-edge technology in more than 560,000 square feet of exhibit space, representing one of the largest exhibitions in OTC’s 51-year history.
OTC 2018 brought together more than 61,000 professionals from more than 100 countries at NRG Park in Houston, Texas.
Keynote Speakers at Monday’s opening event include; Arnaud Breuillac, President, Exploration & Production, Total, Roger W. Jenkins, President and Chief Executive Officer, Murphy Oil Corporation, Doug Pferdehirt, Chief Executive Officer, TechnipFMC, Malcolm Frank, EVP of Strategy and Marketing for Cognizant, and co-author of What to Do When Machines Do Everything
Executive Panelist include, Scott Tinker, Director, Bureau of Economic Geology, The University of Texas, Maria Claudia Borras, President & CEO, Oilfield Services, Baker Hughes and Susan Dio, Chairman and President, BP America.
Highlights of this year’s event is the celebration of OTC Golden Anniversary by offshore E&P leaders from around the world.
The event will also feature the OTC University R&D Showcase which provides universities the opportunity to share with attendees their current and planned R&D projects that are relevant to offshore technology.
Texas A&M University, University of Texas at Austin, University of Oklahoma, University of Houston, University of Tokyo and New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology are among those listed.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as well as Nigerian indigenous oil and gas firms would be joining counterparts from around the world to exhibit at the conference.
