Oil Production Builds From Ghana’s Deepwater Fields

Oil production is on the rise from Ghana’s deepwater fields as Tullow Oil expects average production this year from the Jubilee and TEN fields offshore Ghana to increase to around 179,000 b/d in total.

Last year’s development drilling program involved the use of two rigs operating in tandem across both fields, with results from the well in some cases exceeding pre-drill expectations.

At Jubilee, two new producer wells were drilled and completed, and an existing water injection well was also completed, according to Offshore.

Similarly, two new producers and one new water injector were drilled at TEN. The first new producer, NT05-P, has been onstream since last August and the second, EN10-P, is currently being completed and should be online in February.

This year the company expects to drill and complete seven new wells across the two fields.
